One challenge that teachers often share with us is that they need to print customized textbooks—A4 size, more than 300 pages, in full color, bound like a real book—but only around 120 copies, enough for one grade level. Local print shops do exist, but their color quality just isn’t up to par, and their prices are surprisingly high because their equipment is designed for small-scale printing, not production-level jobs.
Another challenge is communication. Most international school staff are English speakers, and local shop owners often struggle to communicate without translation apps, which makes the whole process frustrating and time-consuming.
